Where We Train

The venue is within easy walking distance of Caerphilly town centre and the castle.

Please arrive around 10 minutes before your first lesson so we can welcome you and explain how the class works.

Why Train in Caerphilly?

The smaller size of our Caerphilly class creates a relaxed and supportive atmosphere where students can receive plenty of encouragement and individual guidance.

It is a great environment for complete beginners who may feel nervous about joining a martial-arts class for the first time.

Students can train towards their own goals, whether that means improving fitness, building confidence, learning practical skills, progressing through the grades or simply finding an enjoyable new activity.

A Welcoming Class for Adult Beginners

Taekwondo isn’t just for children.

Our Caerphilly class has a history of attracting adult students, particularly women, and has previously included a dedicated women-only class.

You don’t need to be particularly fit, flexible or have any previous martial-arts experience to start.

For many adults, Taekwondo provides an opportunity to improve fitness, develop confidence, learn practical skills and enjoy doing something for themselves.

Trying Something New

Taking your first step into martial arts as an adult can feel daunting. Our smaller class provides a supportive environment where beginners can learn without feeling under pressure.

Building Skills and Confidence

As students become more comfortable, they develop their fitness, movement and Taekwondo skills while gaining confidence in what they can do.

Finding Your Own Goals

Some students want to progress through the grades, while others train for fitness, confidence, practical skills or simply because they enjoy it.

There is no single reason to start Taekwondo and no expectation that everyone has the same goal.

Meet Kelly and Keith

Kelly Watts – 4th Degree Black Belt

Kelly leads our Caerphilly class and creates a friendly and encouraging environment where students of different ages and experience levels can feel comfortable and progress.

Kelly also has experience delivering breakaway training for women working alone, helping participants develop practical techniques and confidence for situations where personal safety may be a concern.

Combined with her Taekwondo experience, this gives Kelly a strong understanding of how martial-arts training can help adults develop confidence as well as physical skills.

Keith Sage – 2nd Degree Black Belt

Keith also teaches at Caerphilly and is especially popular with our younger students.

His friendly and approachable manner helps children relax, enjoy their training and build confidence as they learn.

Together, Kelly and Keith create a supportive environment where children, teenagers and adults are encouraged to learn at their own pace and enjoy being part of the class.
