Recent Competition Highlights

Competing Against a Team from the USA

One of our memorable competition experiences saw Reaction Martial Arts students compete alongside and against a visiting team from the United States.

It gave our students the opportunity to test themselves against competitors they would not normally encounter and experience something different from their regular competition schedule.

EMAP OPEN 2026

Reaction Martial Arts students returned to competition at the EMAP Open, putting their patterns and sparring training into practice.

Multiple medals were won with two students winning gold medals at their very first competition.

More Than 200 Competition Medals

Competition is optional at Reaction Martial Arts, but students who choose to compete have achieved considerable success.

Since 2020, Reaction Martial Arts students have won more than 200 competition medals across patterns and sparring events.

Students who want additional sparring and competition preparation can also attend our dedicated Wednesday session in Rumney.

Reaction Martial Arts in Holland

In June 2026, Reaction Martial Arts students travelled together to Holland for a club trip combining Taekwondo, new experiences and time together away from regular classes.

As part of the trip, students also spent the day at Efteling theme park, giving everyone the opportunity to relax, have fun and make memories together outside Taekwondo.

Trips like this reflect the community side of Reaction Martial Arts and give students the chance to build friendships and enjoy experiences beyond their weekly training.

More Than Just Training

Reaction Martial Arts is about more than weekly classes, competitions and gradings.

Over the years, our students have enjoyed a range of social activities together, including:

  • Ice skating at Winter Wonderland
  • Trampoline park visits
  • Club trips
  • Social events for our younger students
  • An annual meal for our black belts and students aged 14 and over

These experiences give students the chance to build friendships, spend time together outside training and feel part of the wider Reaction Martial Arts community.

Black Belt & Grading Success

Progress Through the Grades

Gradings give students the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have developed and work towards their next goal.

Since 2020, Reaction Martial Arts students have completed more than 620 successful colour-belt gradings.

44 Black Belts and Dan Grades Since 2020

Reaching black belt is a major achievement, but it is also the beginning of the next stage of a student’s Taekwondo journey.

Since 2020, our students have earned 44 black belts and Dan grades across Reaction Martial Arts.

Could You Be Part of Our Next Achievement?

Every black belt, grading and competition medal started with someone attending their first Taekwondo lesson.

Whether your goal is confidence, fitness, learning new skills, progressing through the grades or eventually competing, the first step is simply giving it a try.

Complete beginners are welcome.
