Taekwondo Gradings

Our Taekwondo colour belt gradings take place every 3 to 4 months. A grading is an exam and if successful a student will receive a new belt.

Our black belt gradings are conducted by a 7th degree international UTI grading examiner from the Netherlands.

Taekwondo has a ranking system called ‘Kup’ with beginners starting out at 10th Kup. Once a black belt is obtained there is a  black belt ranking system called ‘Dan’ starting at 1st dan.

The table to the right is a guide for what progress for most students may look like. However, it is important to keep in mind that Taekwondo is about individual development and students’ progress at different rates.

Further information on what is required to progress through each grade can be obtained from our instructors during lessons.
